All about San Marcos 2023 in Aguascalientes

The time has come to celebrate the famous Feria of San Marcos in Aguascalientes! Each year this event reunites some of the best and most popular artists and musical groups and this 2023 will not be the exception.

But before we start with all the details of what will happen this year, let us tell you how it is that this big day came up and became one of the most emblematic celebrations in Mexico.

It all started in 1828 as a regional celebration, although it was originally during November and not April. But during the middle of the XlX century while the fair was taking place in San Marcos it was changed to April. Years later when the railway came to Mexico in 1884, this littel fiesta began to make a name for itself and to become more popular, so little by little the organizers began to make it more attractive to visitors.

In 1920 they began the tradition of crowning a queen of the fair, and it may just look like a beauty pageant, but actually is an act of great importance since the governor of the state crowns the chosen one while visitor witness.

Visitors can enjoy attending alone, a couple, with family or friends the multiple activities that the Fair offers, these also have evolved during the years.

Nowadays, the most popular are the palenque, bull fighting, casinos and of course the cattle exposition which has become the most important and popular one in Latin America. You can also enjoy the regional talent, comedians and singers, and dancers.

The music festival at the Feria of San Marcos is always concerned of having the most popular artists of the moment, and there is always someone for everyone to enjoy.

What will happen this 2023 in San Marcos?

From April the 14th through May the 7th visitors will celebrate and enjoy musical performances, comedy shows, rodeos, bull fights, food exhibitions and regional crafts, even the highly solicited casinos and cattle exhibition.

This year is a very special one for the fair organizers because it is celebrating its 195th anniversary. So to celebrate they want to go overboard and present some stars like Rod Stewart, Black Eyed Peas, Camilo, Ricky Martin, Bizarrap and Maluma.

Palenque

If what you’d like is to enjoy artists like Christian Nodal, Carin Leon, Carlos Rivera, Alfredo Olivas, Julion Alvarez, Alejandro Fernandez, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Banda MS, Lucero and Mijares or even OV7 they will also present at the palenque, so this tickets do have a fee for entrance.
